Rob Flowers
Born and bred Londoner Rob Flowers is an illustrator with a distinctively bold style defined by crayon-bright palettes, playful forms and eccentric characters. Stationed in his “Flowers Towers” studio, Rob is a keen collector of kitsch ephemera and historical miscellany, counting 80s gross-out toys, 70s cartoons and early McDonald’s advertising memorabilia amongst his treasury.
With a leaning towards the humorously grotesque, his work draws on his fondness for mythology, combining whimsical imagery with symbolism and folkloric elements. Rob has illustrated four books, with a fifth out this autumn. His work has been described as “trippy…. as if you took a whole load of acid, ate too much candyfloss and went on the waltzers at your town’s local fair. It’s all a bit much, borderline grotesque, but you had a brilliant time.”
Rob’s toy collection has been featured in numerous publications including Creative Review, Design Week and It’s Nice That.
