Jess Rotter

Informed by a deep knowledge and love for the world of 1960’s and 70’s rock ’n’ roll, Jess Rotter was first inspired by her father’s vinyl covers and comic books growing up in New York. Now based in Los Angeles, Rotter’s intricate hand-drawn psychedelic illustrations have appeared on everything including album + book covers, newspapers, public murals, and a whole lot of tee shirts. Her clients range from Joni Mitchell, Questlove, Grateful Dead to Parker Posey, The Washington Post, Nike, SF Giants, Apple, Gibson Guitars, Rodarte and many more. She describes her early aesthetic influences as, “part Peter Max, part Al Hirschfeld. Rotter has illustrated the monthly Departures ‘Editors Pick’ Column since 2022. Her book of drawings, ‘I’m Bored’ was released on Hat and Beard Press.
