Colette Miller
Colette Miller is an American artist best known for her Global Angel Wings Project, created in the streets of Los Angeles, the “City of Angels,” in 2012. These interactive, life-sized angel wings encourage people to take photos with them, thus becoming part of the art themselves. The mission of the project is “To remind humanity, we are the angels of this earth.” To remind us of our higher nature.
Miller holds a Fine Art Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, Virginia. In that time did performance and fabrication for the band GWAR, known as the “GWAR girl,” before departing in 1987. She then continued to explore poetry, music, and film.
Miller has lived and traveled many places in her life with her art, including in Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia, and the Americas.
In addition to the Global Angel Wings Project, Miller also creates what she calls, “Spirit Paintings.” Through these paintings, she explores the intuitive and mystical spirit of the universe. She draws inspiration from imagination, color composition, and meditation – and sometimes humor. None are complete without a sense of peace and balance.
Colette currently has studios in LA and Virginia.
