Ashley Hodder
Ashley Hodder has produced over 150 large-scale mural projects over her fifteen years of creating public art. A Pittsburgh native, she got her start creating murals in her home city but has since established a significant presence in Miami and New York. From her professional background in art therapy and art education for incarcerated populations and Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Hodder often uses her public art projects to engage with the surrounding community and create something positive.
Her work has been featured as part of the Three Rivers Art Festival and in collaboration with the Pittsburgh Penguins as part of a beautification initiative during the PPG Paints Arena construction. A mural in her Daydream Station series was featured in Visit Pittsburgh’s Must See-Murals. She has collaborated with a myriad of local businesses including Kendra Scott Jewelry, Upstreet Diner, and Pittsburgh Winery, where she has her very own signature red as part of their Artist Series.
You can find Hodder’s signature pointillism style and bright, tropical colors on Wynwood Walls and in collaboration with Mana Contemporary Art in Miami, FL, the Bushwick Collective and Bed-Stuy Walls in Brooklyn, NY, or as part of Iranian-American artist and curator Cloe Hakakian’s Murals for Freedom project in Pittsburgh. She remains based out of Pittsburgh but travels frequently to share her art with people all over the world.
